I know two of them are in their fifties now, but E.G. Daily weren't even asked to be in the reboot (heck, they didn't even know there was going to be one), and were devastated to find out that they had been replaced. But wanna know the real kick in the crotch? Cathy Cavadini, Tara Strong, and E.G. Blossom's voice is boring and monotonous, Bubbles doesn't sound nearly as cute, and Buttercup sounds too butch (no, that's not a reference to the Rowdyruff Boys!). This wouldn't be so bad if they had gotten good voice actresses, but sadly they picked three no-names who are all younger than me (seriously, the girl who voices Bubbles is younger than the original series!). First off, none of the girls' voice actresses returned. Now that that's out of the way, I'm going to talk about. It's really cute and a lot of people got very good results. Then there's the awesome "Powerpuff Yourself" app that Cartoon Network has been operating. Keane and Sedusa (though strangely she isn't voicing Princess Morbucks this time around). Jackson reprises his role as Mojo Jojo and Jennifer Hale returns as Ms. Tom Kane is back as the Professor and Him, while Roger L. The Mayor returns again with his personality largely intact (which sadly can't be said of the other characters). (Although I do think they made the girls' heads way too big this time around.) I like that you can actually see Bubbles' hairclips. I don't mind the slight changes to the designs, though I'm glad they're mostly faithful to the original designs. The girls also appear to be a little taller - I guess they're growing after all! It makes sense that a show made years after the original would age the girls a little. For example, their school looks more like a third grade classroom than a kindergarten. I also like that the girls seem to be slightly older this time. Sure there are more animation errors than the original, but at least the animation is pleasing to the eyes. ![]() The opening and ending theme songs were also entertaining and really fit the show. The scenery is very well-drawn and the colors don't clash. But first I'll talk about what the show got right.įor one thing, I like the colors. I don't think I've ever been so disappointed by a cartoon. Perhaps they were a little too high, as the resulting product was a MAJOR disappointment. I thought "Maybe I'll start watching Cartoon Network again to see the PPG reboot!" I had high expectations for show. I was thinking that we'd get to see more exciting adventures of Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. When I heard that there was going to be a reboot, I was quite happy. I especially loved Bubbles due to her cute, endearing personality and her love of animals. I grew to love the adorable Bubbles, the tough Buttercup, and the intelligent Blossom. I first watched it when I was seven and I've been a fan of it ever since. It was my favorite series on Cartoon Network. Growing up, I was a fan of the original Powerpuff Girls.
